Thinking about finding a new home in a Corpus Christi zip code? We have a lot going for us here in Texas' most beautiful city. Those from up north will often find that monthly mortgage payments are lower than the average Brampton house rental, with the added bonus of owning your own appreciating property.

Of course, in order to really appreciate what the city has to offer on the real estate market, you have to know some numbers. Here are some facts most people will find relevant in their search for the right Texas home.

First of all, you may have heard that Texas has suffered greatly in comparison to other states in the current housing market catastrophe. This will certainly be the picture you get if you talk to an Arlington Texas real estate agent. Arlington and other areas have experienced the decline in the market heavily, although as a whole the state has not suffered as much as Arizona, Florida, and California.

That's bad news for sellers in most of Texas, but not for buyers of course, who are able to get a lot more home for their money in the current market. The sale of a property in London Ontario, horse barn arena included, will be enough to get you a spread double its size most places in the state, and that includes the outskirts of Corpus Christi.

On the other hand, though, the city has fared much better than the rest of Texas. Both median and average prices that houses sell for here are above the other major centers in Texas. Sellers of typical middle class homes can expect to receive around $170,000 on average.

While that may be quite small compared to what you may have seen on the Mississauga condos market, you will find that a sale of a home that price in Corpus Christi will net you a good upgrade on your next purchase of Texas real estate.

That good news on the home sale front is perhaps one of the reasons why the inventory on the Corpus Christi market has begun to rise over the last year. While levels still have not reached those of Oshawa real estate, where it seems every fourth house is for sale, there are more lawn signs up in Corpus Christi than there were in 2007 and 2008. Again, most experts agree that this is a sign of a returning confidence in the market, as those who would not sell earlier for fear of losing money are now listing their homes.

As in many areas of the United States, Corpus Christi remains a buyer's market. However, the city is a sounder investment for most than others in the state, and the country in general.
